Sketch the outline before adding shades
Start with a 16 or 32 pixel canvas for a small icon. Paint a recognizable outer shape, then fill the main areas before adding highlights or shadows. Large differences between neighboring colors are easier to read than many near-identical shades. Use the eraser for transparent holes and undo to recover the last stroke or canvas replacement.
Draw with a mouse, touch or keyboard
Click or drag on the canvas to paint. On a touch screen, draw with a finger inside the editor and scroll outside it. Keyboard users can focus the canvas, move the active position with arrow keys, and press Space or Enter to paint. The coordinate readout shows the current position, and the selected erase mode also applies to keyboard painting.
Save pixel art or turn it into a bead plan
Download a transparent PNG at native resolution or enlarge it with whole-pixel scaling. A digital drawing is not yet a bead shopping list: physical beads have a limited palette and their own sizes. To build the design, download your sketch, upload it to the perler bead pattern maker, and check the palette, dimensions and quantities before ordering materials.

Can I start without a photo?
Yes. The pixel art maker starts with a blank 32×32 canvas. You can choose a different width and create a new blank canvas, or load the heart illustration to practice editing.
Are my drawings saved automatically?
No. Drawings stay in the current browser session. Download the PNG before refreshing or leaving. Account history and share links belong to the separate AI bead pattern workbench.
