Bead Pattern Maker for Grid and Supply Planning

A bead pattern maker is useful when the picture is only the start of the project. Before buying beads, check the finished grid width, the non-empty cells and the number of colors you will need. This tool is designed for flat fuse bead grids, with a counted palette and an exportable shopping list. It does not generate crochet, loom or three-dimensional bead-weaving instructions.

Bead charts use your selected reference palette. Screen colors are approximate; check the series, bead size and physical colors before buying.

Count occupied cells, not the bounding box

A 64 by 64 grid contains 4,096 positions, but empty cells need no beads. For example, a design occupying 2,500 cells requires 2,500 beads before spares. The chart shows both grid dimensions and per-color quantities, so you can separate workspace size from actual material use. Background and outline settings can change those counts substantially.

Add spare beads separately for each color

The purchase list adds 5% spare stock and rounds each color up to a whole bead. A color used 100 times suggests 105 beads; a color used 21 times suggests 23. This is a planning allowance, not a guarantee that mistakes or missing stock will never occur. Download the CSV to organize your own purchase sheet and compare it with the bags you already have.

Reduce colors before ordering supplies

Near-identical shades can increase the number of bags without adding much readable detail. Try a smaller color limit, then inspect the face, borders and contrasting areas. Choose a palette first and check physical color charts before mixing brands. Keep a PDF or PNG copy with your supplies so color codes remain accessible while you place beads.

Questions about this tool

Can the bead count change when I edit a cell?

Yes. Adding, erasing or recoloring a cell changes the actual per-color counts. Export the current version after your final edits rather than relying on an earlier shopping list.

Can this make loom or crochet patterns?

No. The current bead pattern maker uses a flat square grid for fuse bead projects. Other techniques require different stitch geometry and instructions.
