AI Image to Perler Bead Pattern Generator
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP you made in an image tool. The converter on this page is the same free browser tool as the homepage. It does not send the picture to a server, and it does not need an account.
The converter loads in your browser. Nothing is uploaded for the free conversion.
Turn AI art into a bead pattern in 3 steps
- Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB. The file stays in this browser.
- Choose a grid width, a color limit, and a MARD, Perler, Hama, or Artkal palette. Removing a plain background is optional, runs in the browser, and does not upload the picture.
- Convert for free. Then change the grid, colors, and outline, edit individual cells, and download a CSV of bead counts plus SVG, PNG, or PDF.
Best AI images for perler beads
Flat shapes, a bold outline, and one plain background color survive a pegboard. Fine text, smooth gradients, and busy scenes do not.
A prompt that tends to convert cleanly: "flat vector, bold outline, plain background, 16 colors." Keep the subject large.
Choose grid size and colors
The width menu lists 32, 40, 50, 64, 80, 100, 104, 128, 160, 200, 256 cells. The default is 80. Height follows the picture. 29 and 48 are not in that menu.
A common 5 mm square pegboard is 29 by 29 pins. Enter 29 columns and 29 rows to see how many boards the chart needs. That number is only the capacity of the rectangle. Use the same pegboard, and a matching count does not mean the boards connect. For a small piece, 32 or 40 is the closest listed width. 50 is the closest to 48. 64 and the default 80 keep more detail and use more beads.
Color limits in the menu are 8, 12, 16, 24, 30, 32, 36, 40, 48. The default is 32. Flat AI art is usually easier at 16 or 24 colors.
Match your bead brand: Perler, Hama, Artkal, MARD
The palette menu in the converter lists MARD 291, MARD 221, a Perler 117-color reference, Hama Midi 5 mm, Artkal S 5 mm, and Artkal C 2.6 mm. There is no separate color-card page.
Codes are not shared across brands. They are reference numbers. Compare them with a physical color card before you buy.
Print at real size
Measure 11 peg centers in a straight line, from the first center to the last, and divide by 10. Enter that spacing, between 2 and 10 mm.
The board-overlay PDF uses that measurement and splits the chart onto pages that fit an A4 sheet. Print at 100 percent and check the 10 mm scale on the sheet against the pegboard. Without a measurement, that overlay stays unavailable. A scaled one-page PDF, a readable PDF, SVG, and PNG still download.
Photos of people or pets? Try AI pattern mode
The free converter is for flat art, logos, and pixel images. Portraits and pet photos use the AI photo pattern button in the converter. It costs 9 credits, asks you to sign in, and returns those credits if the run fails.
The bead-style poster is a separate page and uses the same 9 credits per run.
FAQ
Is it free?
Direct conversion is free and does not need an account. The AI photo pattern and the bead-style poster each cost 9 credits, need a sign-in, and return those credits if that run fails.
Which AI images work best?
Flat art with few colors, a bold outline, and a plain background. Photographs of people and pets belong in the AI photo pattern mode.
What size pegboard should I use?
A common 5 mm square board is 29 by 29. The width menu does not include 29 or 48; the nearest listed widths are 32 and 50. Enter the board columns and rows to count plates. The count covers the whole rectangle only, and matching numbers do not prove the boards connect.
Can I get bead counts per color?
Yes. After conversion, download the CSV. It lists the count for each color and a column with a 5% reserve that is not rounded up to a pack.
Are Perler color numbers exact?
No. They are reference numbers. Compare them with the beads in your hand before you buy. Hama, Artkal, and MARD numbers are separate.
Can I use Midjourney images?
Yes, if you have the right to use the file. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP. This site does not connect to Midjourney, ChatGPT, or Flux, and it does not check where the file came from. Follow the terms of that platform.
